Parsons, Tennessee
Parsons (population 2,600) is a safe, low key country town about half way between Memphis and Nashville in western Tennessee. It sits along the Tennesse River and mostly started out as a Tennessee Midland Railroad town in the late-1800s.
Today, the downtown has a wide main street with government buildings, fast food places, motels, shops and some excellent catfish restaurants.
The Parsons and Greater Area museum chronicles early life in western Tennessee. City Park has tennis courts, and plans for a larger park with more amenities are underway. The Rivertime Players are the local community theater group and present a variety of shows.
