18 Gardenia Cir., #18, Hopewell Junction, New York 12533
------------------
Hopewell Junction is a hamlet in the Hudson Valley, about 90 minutes north of New York City and is the site of this completely charming bungalow in a lakeside, summer co-operative community called Forest Lake Country Club. The home was custom built in 2008 and has two bedrooms, two baths and 960 square feet. The asking price is $150,000.
Tucked in a park-like setting about 250 feet from the water, the residence has a white exterior with a pitched roof, five front windows, flower baskets and a wooden front door. The back side of the home has a small wooden porch.
A sun-soaked, enclosed porch greets all who enter. Windows line the beadboarded white walls. Gorgeous two-tone hardwood floors stretch from wall to wall.
French doors lead into the darling open kitchen with its custom cedar cabinetry, cedar countertops and stainless steel appliances. The living room features an electric fireplace and three windows.
In the master bedroom are wall-length, built-in cedar cabinets and a bed alcove between two large windows. The second bedroom features three windows, a room-length built-in desk and a Murphy bed.
Both baths have an old fashioned basin, cedar cabinets and wainscoting. One features a door to the back yard.
Although the home is a summer property, it has electric heat as well as air conditioning.
Forest Lake is a 100-acre community with about 110 bungalows. Residents enjoy tennis courts, sports fields and clear, blue Sylvan Lake, a private 120-acre lake with a beach and fishing docks. It is also open for non-motorized boating. The co-op has a full-time maintenance staff.
The HOA fee is $450 per month and paid to the co-op (no management company). Please verify this amount with a Realtor.

Hopewell Junction, New York:
This safe little hamlet - collection of homes, really - is in the town of East Fishkill (population 30,000) in the scenic Hudson Valley, about 90 minutes north of New York City. The population is just 450, so not a lot goes on here (although golfers do come to play at the Trump National Golf Club).
East Fishkill that surrounds Hopewell Junction has a nice town core with attractive brick buildings housing farm-to-table eateries, wine tasting rooms, candy stores, sidewalk cafes, florist shops, antiques stores and more. Homes range from bungalows to McMansions in carefully groomed subdivisions. The surrounding landscape is leafy, hilly and serene.
In the zip code that includes Hopewell Junction are two lakes, 117-acre Walton Lake, known for its bass fishing, and Sylvan Lake, a private 120-acre lake with a beach and a campground. With a depth of 140 feet, it is the deepest lake in the county.
